First month down….

finally! It is so fitting that we can celebrate Edda´s birthday on the day of our first reveal!

Ok ok we will show you the final outcome too. We tricked Arndís´s good friend Vaka to show up at our studio in Íshús Hafnarfjarðar for our very first photoshoot.  We, of course paid her with the best coffee money can buy, here at Pallett (next to our studio), where we intend to celebrate our first launch and Edda´s birthday as soon as Arndís recovers from the flu.

So here you go

Thorra sweater and Lazy Stripes

Almost done!

Ohh Edda, how can you say that, Tosh is never ugly. I swear we are not on any Tosh percentages people!

I’m almost done!  The many things I really love with seamless sweaters is that when you’re done knitting, your done.  I am so happy that I decided to knit the bands whilst knitting the cardigan so there is no picking up stitches in the end.  Can´t wait to show it to you!! Here is a little sneak peak of the details!

Here is a little sneak peak of the details I was talking about! Sorry no coffee picture today, but me and Edda are meeting some american knitters tonight and are super excited!

Slowly coming along

Haha typical Edda love the colors but a black and white shawl it will not be… you are still making a shawl right?

Here you can see my cast on in my favorite knitting chair (I wasn’t kidding when I said my entire wardrobe was black). I really love A-line sweaters where the decreases stops just below the bustline (if your knitting from the bottom up), I find it very flattering for my body type.img_3960

But WHY did I think that black would be a good color for a proto type? I´m really afraid the details won’t show as well, but there is no going back now because of my tight deadline. But let’s be honest: First of all I wasn’t thinking.  I was just thinking I need a nice cardigan that is perfect for work, not … I need to make it in a color that shows the pattern better. Second it´s the Tosh, I couldn’t resist. Well you live and learn!

Thorra Sweater – swatches and more

Well done Edda, a swatch and sketch. I love your sketches, mine are not so pretty!  I´m more of a very rough sketch type and lots of calculations type as you can see from the picture (I´m continuing the coffee theme).

Ohh I really am loving how this Madeline Tosh is knitting with moss stitch.  Here you can see my swatches.

After a few experiments I think I´ve decided most of the design aspects, seamless and pockets… I’m definitely thinking pockets!

Þorra sweater/Thorra sweater

So Edda!

After waiting so long to start… it´s finally here…. My first blog post….. I went to your local yarn store handprjon.is. I went all the way to Hafnarfjörður (I live in Reykjavík) because they stock Madeline Tosh and as you know I´m a total sucker for Madeline Tosh, let´s face it Madeline Tosh is highly addictive!

For this first project I´m thinking the perfect work cardigan that goes with everything and is both comfortable and presentable at the office.  Long, open and simple but with a few hidden details to keep things interesting.  I’m calling it Þorra Peysa or maybe The Thorra Sweater for you non Icelandic people because of the Þorra season that is upon us.  If you don´t know much about Þorri click here.  I bought black yarn, because… well… unlike you, my entire wardrobe is black, well..  almost.2-1-2017-18-11-30

Something new!

So Edda, let’s get this ball rolling! I´ve been working on a few design projects and am hoping to get it out there before we start our project in the beginning of next year. Here is a sneak peek.

I will give you a clue, it’s a baby cardigan.
