NEWSFLASH!

We promised you some news on what The harbour project would be up to in a new year…. so I think it´s time….

Some of our projects have made it into patterns on Ravelry and probably not been added here so I will step up my game and do something about that to.

I (Edda) suddenly decided to open up my own yarn shop, decision made on Friday, first yarn order made the next Sunday….. shop opened 2 weeks after that I think… it´s all a blur, LOL.

My shop is called Garnbud Eddu or in English, Edda´s Yarn shop and it´s a brick and mortar shop with no official website yet but it´s getting there.  I have a Garnbud Eddu and garnbud_eddu, so please check it out 🙂 …  I mainly sell yarn from indie dyers, fancy good quality yarn. My first one was my favorite Icelandic indie dyer Vatnses Yarn, second one Goosey fibers which I love and adore, third one in was Knoll yarns and forth is from the sweetest yarnshop in Edinburgh Ginger Twist studios, her own hand dyed yarns. Ginger twist is partly responsible for this shop fairy tale of mine, you don´t need to go big to go big… if you know what I mean.

My fifth brand is in progress and is extremely exciting and than last but not least, I´m selling my own project bags, featuring The Knit Police and other knit and crochet comics I make.  The newest trend is a custom made bag, made just for you with all your special characteristics 😀 .

 

 

Sweet October

I´m going to tell you a little about October.  Early on we decided we wanted to, some time, make the same sweater but with different methods, crochet and knit.  So now is that time, Yayyyy.  We have decided on a design and also yarn. We are using the same yarn but in different colorways. We chose a delightful merino, silk blend from a new Icelandic indie dyer we love. Her label is called Vatnsnes yarn and we are loving the results so far….. can´t wait to show you what I´ve got startet.  We are super super excited as you can imagine. The sweaters will look the same…(ish) but you, my dear reader, fellow crocheter or knitter can choose whether you will knit it or crochet.  This is the yarn and as you can see, Arndís is still busy moving with all the boxes and stuff in the background. She´s not handling it very well, not being able to knit a lot but I know she´s doing her absolute best finishing the September shawl for Saturday.

I´m loving my project this month 🙂 … I love

 the colors, the yarn, the design, my work process, everything.  I decided to write the pattern before I could touch the needle and I´m sticking to it.  I now have written and crochet 3 sections, starting writing the 4th. So the best thing about this is the pattern will be totally ready for tech edit as soon as I´ve finished the shawl :)…  jayyyyj
