We are loving our April projects, hope you do to ❤

OMG I´m back home and it´s actually not that bad (liar, liar, pants on fire). Don´t get me wrong, I love Iceland and everything in it but can you seriously stop this constant heavy wind and decide for a moment if it´s going to be raining, snowing, blowing or something else! For example, to day is the first day of summer, which I have never understood why it´s in April, and it has been windy, snowy, sunny and cold, all at the same time.
The good thing about it the first day of summer is that it´s a national holiday and I get to spend it in my knitting chair 🙂 . My April sweater is almost finished, I only have 2/3rd of a sleeve left and as I promised, here are some photos from my trip to Riga.
Happy Easter everybody!
I´m really loving this pattern. I had to change the design of the baby sweater because couldn’t stop making the pattern. It’s even pretty the WS as you can see in the picture
My Easter has been a combination of wonderful food, laughter and outdoor activities with the family….. And knitting a lot of knitting but no pattern writing… oh well.
In publishing news I got the February Fancy hat back from my wonderfully talented tech editor Sarah and my friend Kristjana is test knitting it. The Thorra Cardigan is ready for tech edit but I’ve decided to knit it in another color to show the pattern more so that´s on hold until I’ve finished .
Greetings from Riga!!! What I was hoping for was this: “I´m totally loving the warm summer breeze here and I think I will be spending my time here mostly out on the patio with my april project (don´t tell my family yet though)”…… But reality is:
“It´s almost the same as in Iceland now, a bit cold and wet and I will be knitting/crocheting inside looking out the window. I think it´s going to knit/crochet up real fast 🙂 which is good because then I will be able to use it back home in the cold spring. I promise a lot of beautiful photos from Riga in my next blog post.
As an engineer I love AutoCad but that’s kind of overkill and maybe not practical for knitwear design 🙂
April started with this stitch pattern which I just can’t stop making and I’m thinking of a combo knit this time. A baby cardigan and mittens for mum to match! I’ve started on the mittens and really loving the how it comes out…. and ohh…I made a sketch. Are you proud?!?
Yes Arndís I think all yarn shops in the world should have toys for kids, it must be better for business.
I´m experimenting with paint.net for my sketches. First try is ok but I will try a bit harder…
Ohhhh f…… I will pick up my pen again…. Unless you know about a better program to make sketches, it must be free or cheap and I must have a lot of control over everything 🙂 🙂 🙂 …
But my april will be a Lopi Sweater with mixed methods, knit and crochet because that´s what I love. I love both methods and I can´t choose.
My next blog post will be published from Riga, Latvia where me and my family will be spending Easter vacation. Seeya!
I simply love your picture that we decided to make as April’s inspiration. This time I went to Litla Prjónabúðin a yarn store not to far away from me and picked up some Yaku yarn from CaMaRose. I’ve been meaning to try for a very long time now.
One of the many things I love about yarn stores in Reykjavík is that most of them have toys for kids.
